the film experience
Shooting on film is a deliberate act. It’s about quality over quantity and the "decisive moment" over a burst of 1,000 digital frames. Here is how we’ll work together:
What Sets Us Apart
Patience, perspective, and honesty shape the way I work. These aren’t just words —they are the reasons I choose 35mm film. I believe in documenting the unposed, building real creative partnerships, and delivering images that capture the character of the moment rather than the perfection of a sensor.
People-First The Pre-Session Consult
Before we meet, we’ll discuss the "vibe" of your shoot. Are we looking for the gritty, high-contrast look of Black & White or the warm, nostalgic tones of color film? I choose my film stocks based on the story we are trying to tell.
The Session: A Quiet Collaboration
Because I shoot on film, our session will feel different. It’s quieter and more conversational. I don't use heavy equipment or distracting lights. I move through the environment as an observer, waiting for the light to hit right or for a genuine expression to emerge. You won't hear a shutter clicking every second—instead, every shot is intentional.
The "Waiting Room"
Once the session is over, the real magic happens behind the scenes. Your film rolls are sent to a professional lab for development and high-resolution scanning. This "waiting period" is part of the art —it allows the moments we captured to breathe before they are finalized.
Curation & Delivery
After the scans return, I hand-select the frames that best reflect your "soul and psyche." I perform custom color grading and light retouching to enhance the natural grain and depth that only film provides. Within 3-5 weeks, you’ll receive a private gallery link to your high-resolution digital masters.
