Meet Alex
Rooted in the tactile discipline of film, my photography captures authentic texture, natural light, and unscripted moments that turn real spaces and culture into lasting visual stories.
why film?
film demands presence. limited exposures force deliberate composition, relying on real light and physical medium rather than endless bursts and post-production filters. the result is an organic image with tangible depth—something clean digital sensors simply can't replicate.
my approach to photography is simple: focus on real context and natural light. i’ve lived in portland my whole life, and this city deeply impacts my work—it isn't just a place i love, it’s my city. whether documenting cultural events, telling a story through lifestyle portraiture, or showcasing commercial spaces, i craft visual narratives that feel lived-in and genuine.
coming from a background heavily influenced by street and film photography, i bring a keen eye for subtle detail, authentic emotion, and spatial atmosphere. i work closely with local makers, creative spaces, and event organizers—documenting everything from night pop-ups and gallery shows to outdoor dance gatherings and hands-on artisan studios. my goal is always to deliver clean, elevated visual archives that capture the real energy of the people involved.
my work has been featured at black box gallery in portland, oregon and in docu magazine.
